Obituary of Maria Odoardi

Maria Odoardi, 87, of Yonkers, NY, sadly died of sudden cardiac arrest on the morning of April 14th, 2015 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Maria was the daughter of Emidio and Ersilia DiMarco and loving wife of Benito Odoardi. She is survived by her brother, Giovanni, and sisters, Ilda and Emilia; her children, Anna Buonocore and Dino Odoardi; son-in-law, Salvatore and daughter-in-law, Joanne; as well as, five grandchildren: Loren, Marco, Nicole, Lisa and Dana; and grandson-in-law, John. Maria worked as a dressmaker for 35 years. Her interests included cooking, baking, crocheting, fishing and entertaining her family and friends. However, she is best known as "Grandma" to every child and "friend" to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was the kindest, gentlest, most giving woman. She will be missed by all. Wake services will be held at Sinatra Funeral Home, Inc, 601 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY on Thursday, 4/16, from 6-8 pm and Friday, 4/17, from 5-9 pm. The funeral Mass will be Saturday, 4/18 at St. John the Baptist Church, 670 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY at 10:45 am and interment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
