Oreste Parente passed away on January 31, 2016 at the age of 80. He was born in Palena, Chieti on December 8, 1935 to Berardino and Anna Parente. Oreste arrived in Halifax, Canada in 1957 and then ventured to British Columbia for work. He moved to Yonkers, NY in 1964 where he worked for over 35 years and retired with D.Magnan, Terrazzo. On July 20, 1963 he married the love of his life Paula "Cookie" Colabello and was married for over 53 years. Oreste was the beloved father of 3 children, Mario Parente of Yonkers, NY, Paul Parente of Cortlandt Manor, NY and Ann Marie Parente of Yonkers, NY. He was blessed with five beautiful grandchildren, Paul, Tori, Dominick, Vincent and Nina Parente; and a daughter-in-law Victoria Parente of Cortlandt Manor, NY. He is survived by his four siblings, Orestina Colabattista (dec'd husband Giacinto) of Mahopac, NY, Nino and Lina (spouse) Parente of Toronto, Canada, Rina and Gabriele (spouse) Celio of Palena, Italy and Pina and Felice(spouse) Macchia of White Plains, NY; and by 14 nieces and nephews and 24 great nieces and nephews. Friend may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. on Tues. from 5-9pm. Funeral mass at St. Joseph Church (Bronxville) Wednesday at 10:45am. Entombment Ferncliff Cemetery.
