Maria Poggiogalle, a longtime Yonkers, NY resident passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. She was born in Tagliacozzo, Italy on January 1, 1933. She worked proudly for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union for 40 years. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, gardening and genuinely devoted to the Madonna dell' Oriente. A loving wife to Teseo Poggiogalle Sr. and mother to Maria Anna (Bernard J.) Duffy and Teseo (Lisa) Poggiogalle. Dear grandmother to Michael and Joseph Duffy and James and Elizabeth Poggiogalle. Fond sister to Nazzarena (Leonard) Semeraro and Vincenza Di Marco and sister-in-law to the late Anthony Di Marco Sr. Maria is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends and family may visit at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. on Monday from 4PM to 8PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated in her memory at Sacred Heart Monastery on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 10:30AM followed by entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY.
