Obituary of Lucy A. Cerra

Lucy A. Cerra, age 96, of Yonkers died Saturday, July 15, 2017. Lucy was born February 11, 1921 in the Bronx, NY the daughter of the late Vincent and Augustine (D'Arco) Cerra. She was a retired supervisor for New York Telephone with 36 years of service as a supervisor and operator. Lucy attended Yonkers schools graduating from the class of 39 from the old Yonkers High School. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, St Denis Church, the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Louis E Willett Life Member Club and was that clubs first president, the 12th Ward Republican Club and the St. John the Baptist Senior Group. Lucy was pre-deceased by her brothers Vincent Cerra, Jr, Michael Cerra and her sister Sylvia D'Amato. She is survived by her 4 nephews and 5 nieces and her many grand nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4PM to 8PM at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc., 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:45 at St. John the Baptist Church, 670 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Yonkers.
