Elizabeth A. Sylvestri passed away peacefully on August 29, 2017 in White Plains, NY after a long and happy life; she was 95. Born in April 1922, in Yonkers NY to Angela and Joseph Azzara, Elizabeth (Liz) graduated from Gorton High School and the State University at New York at Potsdam where she studied Music. In her early years, Liz was a Music Supervisor in the Yonkers school system, and played the piano for the first FM radio transmission. Liz married Joseph J. Sylvestri also of Yonkers, NY in March, 1945 – and resided in Rye, NY and North Palm Beach, FL. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph on July 12, 1988. In addition to being an accomplished pianist, she was a terrific bridge player and golf enthusiast. She is survived by her brother, Warren J. Azzara and lifelong friend Queen Rascoe, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who knew her as "Aunt Betty". She is also survived by friend and former husband Dr. Leonard DiBart. All will truly miss her vibrancy, passion for life and wonderful spirit. Visiting hours will be held at on Saturday, September 2 from 2-4PM at Sinatra Funereal Home at 601 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY.
