Obituary of Margaret B. Gross

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret Beatrice Ali Gross passed away peacefully on September 15, 2017. She was born to Abdi Ismail Haifa Ali and Mabel Lewis on March 31, 1937 in Yonkers, New York. She was educated in Yonkers Public Schools, attending Public School #1 (residing in what was then known as "Nepperhan" on Bushey Avenue), Longfellow JHS and graduated Commerce High School. Margaret was employed by Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics (CBRE) for over 48 years as the facility's Switchboard Operator and later as Receptionist. She joined the company when the Tarrytown facility, where she was based, was owned by the Technicon Corporation and she remained at the same location through the number of acquisitions and company name changes. She was known and loved by her co-workers and was especially famous for her fabulous annual "Birthday Luncheon" where she would prepare and present a sumptuous feast for her co-workers. She was an icon in this company, an example of punctuality, attendance and professionalism, sharing of herself, her gifts and talents with all. Should you find yourself at her desk, or at her home kitchen table with a cup of coffee, she would tell you "like it is", straight and to the point, and you would always leave wiser for having spent those moments with her.
