Mr. Cucuzza was my boyfriend Danny's grandfather. I'll never forget meeting him four years ago where he greeted me at his door with a big smile and a joke, along with a Yankees teddy bear. He always made me feel welcomed, always sneaking in jokes to make me laugh. I have loved getting to know him and the Cucuzza family over the years. It was always clear how much he loved his family. Hearing him tell stories was always a gift. There is no doubt his spirit will live on through his amazing children and grandchildren. I'm so thankful to have known him and I am so appreciative of the lessons he taught me just through admiring the way he placed his family first. I'm also so grateful for the positive impact he had on Danny's life. I know he is watching down with his classic smirk, at rest in eternal peace next to Jesus. May the Lord comfort all of his family and friends during this time. - Daphne Luciano

As a visiting team batboy at Shea Stadium in 73, 74 and 75 I met Lou…He worked in the umpires clubhouse. He would drive us over the Whitestone Bridge every night game where my dad would pick me up!! A true gentleman!! RIP Lou and thank you for the memories!!

We’ve only known Lou for a short time, but we felt like we knew him since forever. Lou and Joan have been our next door neighbors for a little over a year. Lou was the shining star in our small cul-de-sac. He sat outside during the warm weather, and we all gathered around to listen to his stories. He made us laugh. He made us feel like family. He was a warm, welcoming, kind, generous person. Lou will certainly be missed. Heaven has welcomed a true Angel. Rest in Peace. MaryAnne & Peter Finella

An incredibly lovely man who brought so much to his family. His son is an amazing father-in-law to my niece, Katie. His grandson is the perfect father to my grand-niece, Olivia, and incredible husband to Katie. Every day we are grateful the Cucuzza family is in our life and they have created a beautiful family bond with us all - thanks to Louis placing family first. Julie Jones

Lou was more than our beloved mailman in the Bronx Park East section of Pelham Parkway—he was a cherished part of our lives. Lou didn’t "just" deliver mail; he delivered warmth, kindness, and an infectious good cheer that made everyone feel special. With his warm smile and gracious heart, Lou truly became part of our community’s fabric. He embodied dignity, respect, and the highest human values. One of my fondest childhood memories is the day Lou revealed that he worked for the New York Yankees. He didn’t just share that exciting news—he invited me to a game, welcomed me near the dugout, and later gifted me baseballs autographed by Yankee players. It was a moment of pure magic, one that I have never forgotten. As a child, I sometimes accompanied Lou on his rounds, and I was in awe of how beloved he was. He brought light to everyone he encountered. Lou’s presence in our lives was a gift, and his memory will always be a blessing. To his dear family—may you be comforted in this time of loss and find strength in the love and admiration so many had for Lou. He will forever be in our hearts. He truly personified the spirit of "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night." May his memory be a blessing. Mordechai I. Twersky (Son of Rabbi and Mrs. Twersky from Pelham Parkway)
