Michael W. DeStefano of Mt. Kisco died on February 17 after a brief illness. He was past president of the Eastchester Historical Society and active with the Mt. Kisco Senior Group. Born in Sarno, Italy on January 9, 1920 he came that year to the U.S. with his family. Raised in Manhattan, he became a Gristede Brothers meat manager and married Louise Cervo in 1945. The couple moved to Yonkers where they raised three sons, Anthony, Michael and Edward. He was a Boy Scout troop leader in Yonkers and a home improvement enthusiast. An avid reader, he joined the historical society and assisted the Bronxville Meals on Wheels. After the death of Louise in 1994, he moved to Mt. Kisco and took part in sailing, golfing, travel, as well as ushering at the Church of St. John & St. Mary. He worked 21 years with the AARP Foundation Tax Aide Program. He is survived by his three sons, brother Salvatore of Florida, companion Marilyn McGinness, a daughterin-law Susan and grandsons Daniel, Alexander and John Paul. Contributions can be made to Mt.
