OBITUARIO DE ALEJANDRA GARAY - FEBRERO 27, 1932 – MARZO 10, 2023

El 10 de Marzo de 2023, Alejandra Garay falleció pacíficamente a los 91 años

después de una larga enfermedad. Alejandra era madre biológica de siete hijos

(uno de los cuales falleció a la edad de un año y medio). Sin embargo, muchas

personas consideraban a Alejandra su madre sustituta.

Cuando los hijos de Alejandra eran pequeños, la frase "ama de casa" existía. Era

habitual que las mujeres se quedaran en casa con los niños mientras sus maridos

trabajaban. Pero incluso para los estándares de la época, Alejandra fue una

esposa y madre excepcional.

Se preocupaba profundamente por su familia y vecinos. Ella hizo esto no por

obligación, sino por quién era. Ella siempre fue la primera en ofrecer ayuda.

Regularmente llevaba comidas a la casa de vecinos enfermos. Y siempre se

aseguró de que cada niño que se cruzara en su camino estuviera seguro,

saludable y feliz.

A Alejandra le sobreviven sus hijas, Sandra O. Guerrero, Sara E. Garay, Judith

Rodak; sus hijos: Mario A. Garay, Raúl V. Garay, Oscar R. Garay; 23 nietos, 25

bisnietos y 4 tataranietos. Alejandra fue precedida en la muerte por su esposo de

50 años Mario Alberto Garay (2003) y su hija Azalea Salinas (1952).

ALEJANDRA GARAY OBITUARY - FEBRERO 27TH, 1932 – MARZO 10TH, 2023

On March 10th, 2023, Alejandra Garay passed away peacefully at age 91 after a

long illness. Alejandra was the biological mother of seven children (one whom

passed away at age one and a half). However, many people considered Alejandra

their surrogate mother.

When Alejandra's children were young, the phrase "stay-at-home-mom" did exist.

It was usual for women for stay home with the children while their husbands

worked. But even by the standards of the era, Alejandra was an exceptional wife

and mother.

She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation,

but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help. She regularly

brought meals to the home of sick neighbors. And she always ensured that every

child who crossed her path was safe, healthy, and happy.

Alejandra is survived by her daughters, Sandra O. Guerrero, Sara E. Garay, Judith

Rodak; her sons: Mario A. Garay, Raul V. Garay, Oscar R. Garay; 23 grandchildren,

25 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Alejandra was preceded

in death by her husband of 50 years Mario Alberto Garay (2003) and daughter

Azalea Salinas (1952).
