Obituary of Louise A. Silvestri
Please share a memory of Louise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Louise Ann Silvestri passed away peacefully in her home in Hastings on Hudson February 8th, at 2:14pm. She was 95. She was born in Solvay, New York to Antonio Silvestri and Sophia Silvestri (Aballe) both coming to America in their teens from Monte San Giovanni, Italy, just south of Rome. She loved her Italian culture and traditions. Louise was a career woman, who worked in Accounts Payable for Ciba-Geigy for nearly 40 years. She was an intellect who listened deeply about what her loved ones were going through. She always said "I read an article about that" and would make sure she'd leave a newspaper clipping in your Birthday or Christmas card along with a check encouraging you to save your money or to treat yourself, signed LAS. She loved to read and say her rosary for those in need. Her true love was food and a good hot cup of tea! She devoted her life to caring for her parents Antonio and Sophia, and her close family. She was a faithful Catholic who prayed daily and would want to be remembered as a woman of faith and love. Her legacy will be her unwavering way of comforting those close to her, but still being true to her strong will and integrity.
She came from a large family of 10 siblings. and was the third born. Frank Silvestri (deceased) Ann Capuano (deceased) Linda Fisher, Mary Ivanow, Jean Cortolano, John Silvestri, (deceased) George Silvestri, (deceased) Virginia Kazura, and Carol Hrivnak. She is also survived by her loving sister in laws Cathy Silvestri and Bernice Silvestri, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and will be missed every day. Toward the end of her life she was fortunate to be accompanied by her live-in care giver Dodo "Maria". We will all keep our memories of her alive in our hearts, and never far from our mind.
