Obituary of Filomena Pampalone
Filomena Pampalone sadly passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the age of 96. Filomena, known to friends and family as Fanny, was born in Yonkers, NY on February 5, 1929 to Angelo and Teresa Paliotta, one of eight siblings. Filomena is survived by her daughters, Andrea O’Brien and Denise Feulner. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Vincent (Jim)and beloved son, Frank. Four adoring grandsons and 4 great-grandchildren brought Filomena tremendous joy. Filomena was a Commerce High School/Girl’s Vocational graduate who worked as a seamstress in her early years. Her love of sewing continued throughout her life and she took great pleasure in making clothing for her children and could repair most any garment. A fabulous cook, Filomena was self-taught with the help of her Good Housekeeping cookbook purchased from a door-to-salesman when she was a newlywed. Filomena took great pride in her bookkeeping skills and the classes she took at the Career Center in Yonkers. A dedicated stay at home mom and housewife, she was later employed at several restaurants in Yonkers, Hastings and Piermont where she utilized her affinity for numbers. She could often be found at the Empire Casino poker machines.
