Obituary of Marianne Joan Larzelere

Marianne "Missi" J. Larzelere of Mt. Kisco, NY passed away on February 19, 2025 after a long illness. She was a beloved daughter of the late Wiliam W. and Margaret Ormsby Larzelere, of Bluff Point. She was born October 29, 1951. She was a graduate of Penn Yan Academy, Class of 1969 and SUNY Cortland, 1973. She spent her working career as a Physical Education teacher at John Jay High School, Mt. Kisco.
Missi, as she was known to family and friends, loved volleyball. She coached JJHS's girls' volleyball team to many championships and was voted Coach of the Year several times and Teacher of the Year in 1981. She retired from JJHS in 2006.
On summer vacations, she traveled throughout the world. After retiring, she enjoyed her time in her home in Mt. Kisco and her vacation home in Murrell's Inlet, SC. Missi loved her family, her Bible Study group members, needle work, coloring, puzzles, Snoopy and John Denver's music. She will be remembered for her friendliness, caring attitude and hospitality.
She will be missed by Joanne St. George, her siblings Janice (Russ) Smith, Raymond (Sona) Larzelere, William M. (Liz) Larzelere and Jeffrey (Patty) Larzelere and Jim (Kathy) Moon, the "sixth sibling," many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Services of remembrance will be held in Mt. Kisco and in Bluff Point in the future. Internment will be next to her parents in the Branchport, NY Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank all of the medical staff at Northern Westchester Hospital and the many local friends who helped Missi, especially toward the end, neighbors Mary Lynn, Lois & Kit.
