Obituary of Ellen C Sullivan

Please share a memory of Ellen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ellen Catherine Sullivan died peacefully on March 2, 2025.  She was born on March 7, 1957 to Gertrude Duncan Sullivan and James Sullivan. Ellen studied at St. Gabriel's and the College of New Rochelle before beginning a 42 year career at Crown Products, where her significant administrative skills, ability to connect with staff, vendors and clients and her care and encouragement helped the business thrive.  In 2017, she married the love of her life Mitze Amoroso with whom she would share a total of 25 happy years, surrounded by the dogs Mitze convinced her to love, family and so, so many friends who were like family. In addition to her wife she is survived by her beloved in-laws Arleen Amoroso and Jackie and John Chester, and her sister Maria Sugrue and her family. Her nieces Suzanne Hilser-Wiles, Sally Hilser and Stacey Elder and their families will always think of her in the words of her great niece, "she's one of the best things that ever happened to me." She is predeceased by her brother Neal Sullivan and her big sister and BFF Patricia "Snookie" Sullivan Hilser, who made being Ellen's champion her lifelong work, as well as her brother-in-law Peter Hilser, the only one allowed to call her "Ellie." Ellen created love and joy wherever she went and her impact on the world around her will continue to live on for a long, long time. Many have asked about making a donation in Ellen’s name.  A few charities Ellen supported are: ABC Basset Rescue in NY, Misplaced Mutts, Beaufort, NC and ArchCare www.archcare.org.
