Roberto Pagan-Ponce Obituary

With great sadness & tears in our hearts, we share a very brief message on our Roberto, Cano, June, Ponce, Papa & house name Pop. Born in Isabela, PR on April 29, 1953, from a small town in Jobos, to Anicasio & Roberto. Arriving to NY in his early 20’s with his sister Maria Teresa. Proud of his PR roots & his love for the island, he held tight to his heritage, starting his day with his morning cafesito (coffee), always enjoying a good latin dish & listening to the sounds of his salsa music every chance he got. Roberto, was married to our mother Lucy til her passing on Jan 7, 2007. The deaths of his loved ones visually took a toll on our dad/papa throughout the years but as a family, we fought hard to keep him grounded & surrounded him with love.

Roberto loved us, loved the summer season, & loved his Yankees. Saw his surviving siblings & called when he could. Spent many days enjoying family time & held great conversations about his favorite sport with us, his brother & friends. Roberto is survived by his daughters, sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, family & friends.

What else can we say other than, that we were not prepared for his departure, not right now. He loved us very much & we Loved him back! Hopefully your with mom in Heaven, dancing salsa together & watching over us. We Love & will forever miss you. Til the Lord permits us to meet again.
