Obituary of Denise Schnell

Denise Schnell entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

Denise was the beloved wife of William J. Schnell, loving mother to her three daughters, Melissa Schnell-Patti(Anthony),Greta Schnell-Weiss(The Late Brandt Weiss) and Samantha Cullen (Blair). She was a cherished grandmother to Anthony Patti, William Patti, Gregory Patti, Hunter Weiss, Paige Cullen, and Tate Cullen; and cherished sister of Sophie Pantazopoulos (Gaitanis) and adored her nieces and nephews and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother Stella Gaitanis(Boucheros) and her father Steven Gaitanis and her mother in law Cletus Schnell(Meyer).

Denise graduated from George Washington High School in New York City and from GAI Greek American Institute in the Bronx, New York, where she met her life long friends Helen and Joy. After HS Denise and her bestie Helen worked at Candid Camera and shared so many funny stories from those days. Denise and William started their marriage living in the Bronx, NY and went on to buy their first home in Tenafly, NJ, from there they moved to Buffalo Grove, ILL, before moving to Chappaqua, NY. In retirement they moved to Palm Beach Gardens, FL  and after a few years decided they wanted to be closer to their girls and grandchildren so moved to Mahopac, NY and just recently moved to Somers, NY. Denise and William just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Denise was a huge Yankee fan, loved Tennis and was also a Champion Racketball player in Chicago, Illinois. She loved to travel, especially to Italy and cherished those memories of vacations with family and close friends. 

Visitations will be held at the Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home 262 Main Street Mount Kisco, New York 10549 on Monday April 14, 2025 from 4:00PM - 7:00PM and will also be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 10 Mill Road, New Rochelle, NY 10804 on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 11:00am - 11:30 am.

Funeral Service will follow at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 10 Mill Road, New Rochelle, NY 10804 on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 11:30am Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 50 Jackson Ave, Hastings On Hudson, NY 10706.
