Rose Patierno passed away peacefully in her home on May 3, 2025 surrounded by her family. Rose was born on August 29, 1928 in the Bronx, New York and spent most of her life in the Town of Bedford, New York, where she and her husband Archie raised their seven children.
She was a loving mother known for her strength and dedication to her family, faith and community. Rose had a great sense of style and worked for years as a buyer for the Bedford Barn, a local boutique. Even into her eighties, she had a full social schedule, active in volunteer work, dance lessons and the Red Hat Society. She was a jigsaw puzzle enthusiast, an avid reader who enjoyed spending time outside and visiting with neighbors.
Her family remembers her fondly for hosting large family parties, preparing delicious meals, and crafting cherished items such as wedding dresses and baby blankets. Always supportive and graced with a kind smile, Rose was a source of comfort and strength for many.
Rose and Archie were active members of St. Patrick's Parish, where Rose attended daily mass.
She is predeceased by her husband, Archie, parents, Frank and Pauline Salvo, and her brother, Augustine Salvo. She is survived by her loving family, including children Barbara (predeceased, William), Dennis(Millie), Marian(pre-deceased, Ed), Doreen, Robert(Elisabeth), Michael(Marcy), and Theresa(Greg), nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home in Mt. Kisco, from 5-8 on Wednesday May 7th. A Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Patrick's Church, Bedford, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 8th. Followed by an interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, New York.
