Pete A. Tamburri Obituary

Pete A. Tamburri, age 87, of Yonkers, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025. He was born on February 9, 1938, in the Bronx, NY, to the late Antonio and Columba Tamburri. Pete served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1957 during the Korean War. He had a long career at Gristede's, where he worked as Vice President of Operations, and was also a dedicated volunteer at St. Ann's Church in Yonkers and an avid classic car collector and enjoyed going to many car shows. Peter was also a member of the Anthony Maggiacomo Lodge of the Sons of Italy.


He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean (Sarcinella) Tamburri, and his devoted children, Joanne (John) Pellegrino and Peter Tamburri. Pete was a loving grandfather to Alexandra and Jonathan Pellegrino. He was predeceased by six siblings: Josephine Pazienza, Minnie Russo, Susie Pellicci, Dominick Tamburri, Albert Tamburro, and Theresa Belizze. Additionally, he is survived by many nieces and nephews.
