Obituary of Rosemarie Stasio

Please share a memory of Rosemarie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Rosemarie Stasio, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, volunteer and cherished member of the Mount Kisco community, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in the Bronx on September 4, 1928 to Frank & Irene Palladino. Later in life she married her husband, Ernie Stasio, with whom she raised five children.

Her love for her children was paramount, but beyond that, Rosemarie received several accolades and had many accomplishments. She was honored in 2018 with Top Honors in the Westchester Senior Hall of Fame for her decades of selfless service and unwavering commitment to helping others.

Rosemarie was a familiar and beloved face at the Senior Center at Fox Center, Friends in Service Helping (FISH), and My Second Home. For over 20 years, she served on the board at the Fox Center, most of those years as Board President and Vice President. Known for her dedication and kind heart, she did everything from sending birthday cards to seniors, to organizing the annual tag sale, and overseeing daily operations and programming.

For 25 years, she also served on the Board of FISH. Her days often began as early as 6 a.m., fielding calls from seniors needing transportation, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring every individual received the support and care they needed.

In addition to her extensive work with FISH and the Fox Center, Rosemarie volunteered one day a week for five years at My Second Home, where she spent time comforting Alzheimer's patients and offering companionship to individuals facing various medical and mental challenges.

Above all, Rosemarie was a loving and devoted matriarch. She is survived by her children: Theresa DiBiasi, Irene Cylenica (Paul), Joan Salamone (John), Rosemarie Santoro and Joseph Stasio.

She was the proud grandmother of Janet, Ronnie (Tora), Lindsay (Drew), Jeffrey, Susan, Thomas (Lucie), Christine (Brian), and Laura and was predeceased by her grandson, John.

Rosemarie also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren: Emily, Nicholas, Ava, Chloe, Hailey, Juliette, Mackenzie, and Delilah, who brought her endless joy and pride.

Her remarkable life of service touched countless lives and left an indelible mark on the community. She will be remembered for her compassion, tireless dedication, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met. The love and kindness she shared with everyone in her life will remain with us forever.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or the Alzheimer's Association.
