As a father, Diego was a guiding force—firm yet gentle, wise, and always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. Some of his favorite memories were when Spain won both the World and Euro Cups.
Diego's legacy lives on in his grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy. He was the proud grandfather or as the kids called him Abo/Abuelo of Sophia, Layla, Gabriella, Liana, and Mateo, and eagerly awaited the arrival of another grandson, a little one he was looking forward to meeting and welcoming into his heart. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Diego is also survived by his sister Augustina and his brother Jose (Isabel). Diego was also a wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews
Diego's life was one of purpose, integrity, and deep love for those around him. His calm presence, his generosity of spirit, and his dedication to his family will never be forgotten.
