Albert P. Vessa

August 31, 1945 – June 23, 2025

Albert P. Vessa, 79, of Yonkers, NY, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 31, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, Al was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.

On October 7, 1967, Al married the love of his life, Carol Mastriocovo. Together they built a beautiful life and raised three children who were the pride of his life.

In 1968, Al began what would become a distinguished 21-year career with the White Plains Police Department. He proudly served most of those years as a First Grade Detective, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and the community alike.

Al was a lifelong Yankees fan and loved spending time at the beach, soaking in the sun and the company of his loved ones. Known as the life of the party, Al had a natural charisma and warmth that made everyone feel like family. But nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his cherished grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; his children Christine and Tim Gianfrancesco, Gena and Gianni Garritano, and Frank and Antoniette Vessa; and his seven adored grandchildren: Anthony and Michael Gianfrancesco, Gianni Jr., Sophia, and Mia Garritano, and Frank Jr. and Nicholas Vessa.  He is also survived by his beloved brother, Robert and Josephine Vessa and their family.  

Al will be remembered for his big heart, unwavering loyalty, and the joy he brought to every room. His legacy of love and laughter lives on in the family he treasured so deeply.
