Sandra L. Longbucco Obituary

Sandra L. Longbucco, lovingly known as Sandy to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025. She was born on September 20, 1943, in Yonkers, New York, to the late William and Stella Ferguson.

Sandy was the cherished widow of Frank J. Longbucco, with whom she married on June 6, 1964. She was a devoted mother to her son William and his wife Christine, and to her daughter Lisa Stofko and her husband Craig. Sandy was predeceased by her son, Frank J. Longbucco Jr.

Her role as Mimi to her grandchildren, Jacquilyn, Samantha, Kevin, and CJ, was one of her greatest blessings. Her nieces and nephews also held a special place in her heart. Sandy's playful spirit and loving nature made her the heart of family gatherings, and her absence will be deeply felt by all.

A graduate of Gorton High School, Sandy furthered her education by attending business school, which paved the way for a fulfilling career. For over two decades, she dedicated her professional life to Elizabeth Seton College, where her warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on her colleagues.

Sandy's friendly demeanor, vibrant spirit, funny antics, and loving nature were a source of joy for many. Whether joking around, enjoying her weekly poker card group with the ladies, or simply enjoying her tuna sandwiches with potato chips and a Diet Pepsi, Sandy had the unique ability to light up a room and make everyone feel at home. Her love for dancing and singing was a testament to her zest for life. Her favorite flower, the sunflower, reflected her sunny disposition and the happiness she spread wherever she went.

Sandy's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring bonds of family. Her spirit and memory will be cherished in the hearts of her loved ones forever. Her departure leaves behind a void that can never be filled.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her memory to the Disabled American Veterans at www.help.dav.org
