It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Radhike Rampersad, who was born on May 4 1936, in Felicity, Chaguanas, in the island of Trinidad and Tobago to Basant Somrah and Phoolbassia Basant. She departed this life on September 27, 2025.

Radhike was a woman of strength, faith, and devotion. She worked tirelessly throughout her life and was deeply dedicated to her family. Known for her incredible cooking, especially her roti and dhal and rice, she nourished not only the bodies but also the hearts of everyone around her. She always provided for her children with love, care, and sacrifice, teaching through both action and words. As she often said, "So you shall make your bed, so you shall lie," she lived a life that exemplified responsibility, resilience, and the importance of making thoughtful choices.

She was predeceased by her late husband, Goolcharan Rampersad.

Radhike is survived by her seven children, three son in law, one daughter in law, eleven grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory and the lessons she imparted.
