Mary Elizabeth Luckey Grandy, 68, of Yonkers, New York, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.

Born and raised in the Bronx on May 9, 1957, Mary was the daughter of the late Thomas and Joan Luckey. She was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers.

Mary married the love of her life, the late James Grandy, and together they raised three children: Thomas Grandy, Jacqueline (Lawrence) Byrnes, and Gillian (Anthony) Daronzio. They carried the memory of their son, Steven Grandy, who passed away in 1984, close to their hearts. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones. Her grandchildren, LJ Byrnes, Lily Daronzio, and Anthony Daronzio, were the lights of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Helen (Mike) Norgard, and her brother, Thomas Luckey.

Mary dedicated many years to the Yonkers Public Schools, where she worked as an aide and public safety officer. Her kindness, patience, and commitment to the students and staff were deeply appreciated by all who knew her.

She found joy in cooking, relaxing at her beloved lake house on Kinderhook Lake in Columbia County, and, above all, cherishing every moment with her family and friends. Her warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate to know her.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 7, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sinatra Memorial Home, 499 Yonkers Avenue.
