It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother and great-grandmother Angela Magliocca, who passed away peacefully at the age of 91. Born in Barletta, Italy, she was the second of seven children born to Francesco and Antonella Somma. She married in Italy and immigrated to the United States with her husband, Michele, and daughter, Tosca, where they built a home and a life on Chestnut Street in the Bronx. She later moved to Westchester, NY, where she remained deeply involved in the lives of her family, grandsons, and later her great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her cherished daughter, Tosca De Luccia (2003), her loving husband of over 50 years, Michele (2013), and her grandson, Justin De Luccia (2020), losses she carried with profound strength and grace. She is survived by her loving grandson, Kristian De Luccia (Lisa), her son-in-law, William De Luccia (Cathy), sister-in-law Gina Somma, nephew Nicasio Somma, and her three treasured great-grandchildren, Marea, Lorelei, and Michael, who brought immense joy and light to her later years. She is also survived by extended family, both at home and in Italy.
Angela loved to sew, garden, and cook. She worked as a seamstress in the garment industry for many years, and her skills were unmatched, there was nothing she couldn't mend or alter. She also loved plants and had a gift for coaxing life from even the smallest clipping. Her true magic, though, was in her cooking, and few could resist her baked ziti, meatballs, or stuffed mushrooms.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, resilience, and family devotion will live on in every generation she helped shape. Her memory will forever remain a blessing to all who knew her. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11am on Friday, December 19, 2025, at St. Patrick's Church in Bedford Village, NY.
The family is incredibly grateful to Taconic Rehab in Hopewell for their compassion and kindness. They were a blessing to the family during her short illness. The family would also like to acknowledge the Lewisboro Seniors and Pound Ridge Senior Programs for their dedication and efforts to support seniors in aging in place with heart and dignity. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of her daughter, Tosca.
