March 17, 1960 – December 26th, 2025, age 65 Manhattan, New York
John Patrick Keegan, lovingly known to most as Jay, was born on March 17, 1960, in Manhattan, New York, where his deep love for the city began and never faded.
Jay was a passionate, loving, and hardworking man who dedicated much of his life to his career as an exterminator with Terminate Control. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. Above all else, Jay cherished New York City, which he loved more than any other place in the world.
A devoted music enthusiast, Jay spent much of his free time immersed in the sounds he loved most—especially the music of Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones, his favorite bands. He spent hours practicing his favorite rock songs on his many guitars.
Jay was also known to many as Plot 162. He was a proud member of the Mission Graffiti (MG) Boys, a group of seventies era graffiti artists. He had many friends across the world who enjoyed his art. His graffiti name was a reference to the street number he grew up on in the Bronx. Jay was extremely proud to grow up in the Highbridge region of the Bronx and could tell tales for hours about his experiences. His love for Highbridge was so strong, he had the Highbridge water tower tattooed on his right arm by his tattoo artist and confidant Adam Kaplan.
When he wasn't painting or enjoying music, Jay found his greatest joy in his family, whom he loved deeply and spoke of often.
Jay leaves behind a legacy of love through his children, Kimberly and Randy; his true love and forever best friend, Lori, and her daughter Melissa; his beloved sister, Maryann, and her husband Dennis; his treasured nephews, Charlie and Dan; his daughter-in-law, Keighla; his adored grandchildren, Mathias and Briar; and the many friends who became family along the way. Each of them carried a piece of his heart, and his love for them will live on always.
In honoring Jay's spirit, the following lyrics reflect his outlook on life and remain close to his heart:
"And I'm not frightened of dying, you know any time will do, I don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? There is no reason for it. You've gotta go sometime"— Pink Floyd "The Great Gig in the Sky"
