Pedro Reyes of Sleepy Hollow, NY passed away on December 24th, 2025 at the age of 82.

Pedro, known as "Pedrito" was born in Moca, Dominican Republic on February 12, 1943, son of Ana Rita Ledesma de Reyes and Esmeraldo Reyes.

In 1979, with the help of his elder brother Ramon Antonio Reyes, Pedro emigrated to the United States, where Pedro would quickly bring his wife and children. He settled in Tarrytown, New York and spent the next 30 years as part of the maintenance team at Tarrytown Hall a nursing home. Pedro took pride in his work and delighted in interacting with the nursing home residents and bringing them joy and laughter.

Pedro is the beloved father of five daughters and two sons: Teresa, Jose Luis, Yadira, Florangel, Evelin, Dennis and Hildania. He is also the grandfather of nine: Brandon, Amber, Ashley, Brianna, Vanessa, Miguel, Alessandra, Michael and Mason.

Pedro was preceded by his son Dennis Reyes, his first wife Maria Josefina Reyes and his brother Ramon Antonia Reyes. He is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and eleven of his siblings, Patria, Chiche, Rafael, Mercedes, Montillo, Jesus Maria, Mente, Pablo "Papi" Duva, Minera and Virgen.

Upon retiring in 2009, Pedro was able to enjoy a long and happy retirement in his hometown, Guanabano, Moca, Dominican Republic. He rose early everyday and spent his days in his land.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, January 2nd 2026 at Sinatra Funeral Home, 601 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers Ave, NY. On Saturday, January 3rd, a Catholic mass will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Sleepy Hollow, NY.
