In Loving Memory of Wilfredo Muniz Jr.

July 16, 1982 – January 17, 2026

Wilfredo Muniz Jr., 43, of Westchester County New York, passed away on January 17, 2026. A proud Marine, a devoted mental health counselor, and a deeply loved son, brother, husband, and stepfather, Wilfredo's life was one of service, depth, and profound heart.

Born in Manhattan to Priscilla Martinez and Wilfredo Muniz, Wilfredo was a man of deep intellect and compassion. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Lehman College and a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Manhattan University. He dedicated his professional life to helping others navigate emotional pain, always offering a listening ear and a generous heart.

Wilfredo served in the United States Marine Corps from 1999 to 2007, including a deployment to Iraq in 2003. He rose to the rank of Corporal and continued his commitment to his fellow veterans through the Marine Corps League of Westchester County, where he served as Junior Vice Commandant, Commandant, and most recently, Senior Vice Commandant. His leadership and loyalty left a lasting mark on the community he cherished.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosanna Muniz; his stepchildren, Anthony and Manuel Reyes; and his devoted parents, Priscilla and Wilfredo. He also leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and shared with him a meaningful journey. Their connection was shaped by both love and struggle, and by bonds that endured even through difficult seasons.

Wilfredo was a man of many layers—strong and vulnerable, giving and guarded. He had a way of making people feel seen and valued, even as he carried his own burdens quietly. His heart was vast, his intentions sincere, and his presence unforgettable. He was the kind of person who showed up for others, even when he was hurting.

His passing is a heartbreaking reminder of the silent battles so many face. But it is also a call to remember him not only for his pain, but for his laughter, his loyalty, his service, and his love.

May he finally find the peace he so deeply deserved.
