Carol A. Walker Obituary

Carol Walker passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on January 31, 2026. She was born in Saugerties, New York to Helen and Joseph Baker.

Fiercely independent and strong-willed, Carol approached life on her own terms. She lived a life defined by love, generosity and quiet strength. Carol found joy in feeding the birds and squirrels and had a passion for gardening and reading. Through the years, she lovingly owned and cared for several cats, dogs and other various animals.

Carol is survived by her sister, Barbara Saponara, brother-in-law, John Saponara, nephews Joseph and Nicholas (Christine) Saponara, their children Nixon, Vienna and Camden, her cat, Shusha and several cousins. She was predeceased by her son, William Gustafson and her parents, Helen and Joseph Baker. Her warm heart and nurturing spirit will live on through the family she cherished. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Carol to organizations supporting animals.
