Lynne Campanini was a woman whose life was defined by two enduring anchors: an unwavering devotion to her friends and family and a quiet, resilient strength that inspired everyone who knew her. Born on January 17, 1946, in Yonkers to Nicholas and Anne Gasparre, Lynne grew up rooted in a city that she would serve for decades.
Her life changed forever when she married the love of her life, Anthony Campanini, on October 23, 1965. Their marriage spanned over sixty years—a testament to loyalty and determination. Together, they raised their sons, Anthony and Daniel, and eventually welcomed daughters-in-law, Tara and Lea.
Professionally, Lynne was a constant source of comfort to others. As a receptionist at the Home for the Aged Blind in Yonkers and later at Cortlandt Healthcare, she was the first voice many families heard during difficult times. She was a natural in these roles because Lynne had a gift for connection; she truly talked to everyone, yes, everyone! Whether it was a resident, a worried family member, a stranger in passing, or even her dinner server, she had a way of making people feel seen and heard through her conversation and genuine interest in their lives.
For nearly forty years, Lynne lived with Multiple Sclerosis. While the disease presented challenges, it never defined her. Instead, she chose to lead with grace and faith. She found joy in the simple things, most notably in her belief in God, her love of baking, the time she spent singing in the choir, and the companionship of her beloved dog, Nugget. Her voice and profound kindness were gifts she freely gave to her congregation and community.
Lynne was the cornerstone of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister to Arleen and her husband Michael. Her greatest pride, however, was her role as a grandmother. She leaves behind a legacy of pride and love in her grandchildren: Nicholas, Amanda, Brittni, and Kaitlin. She remained a source of warmth for her three nieces, Susan, Kelli, and Tracey, whose visits brought her immense comfort and love.
On February 8, 2026, heaven received another angel as Lynne passed away peacefully with family at her side. Her family wishes to thank the staff at St. Cabrini of Westchester for the compassionate care they provided in her final days.
Lynne will be remembered not for the battle she fought, but for the grace with which she lived, the conversations she shared, and the unwavering faith that guided her home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lynne's memory to the SPCA of Westchester.
