Antoinette Volpicelli Obituary
Antoinette (Concia) Volpicelli, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, New York, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026.
Born on September 16, 1927 and raised in the Park Hill section of Yonkers, Antoinette grew up in a vibrant neighborhood filled with Italian immigrant families beginning their lives in America. She attended Yonkers public schools and graduated from Commerce High School. As a teenager, she worked at Woolworth's, where she often joked about having to wear stockings instead of the bobby socks and saddle shoes that were popular among girls at the time. She was later employed as a bookkeeper at Almo's Furniture and in several other companies over the years.
After the end of WWII, Antoinette met her future husband, Trevis. The couple married on November 12, 1950, at Mount Carmel St. Anthony Church, followed by a reception at the Riverview in Hastings-on-Hudson where they later celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Trevis was a proud World War II veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He predeceased her in 2015.
Family gatherings were the center of Antoinette's life, especially during the holidays and her beloved New Year's Day celebrations. She was well known for her favorite congo bars, her lasagna and for roasted potatoes that family members still remember fondly and have never quite been able to replicate.
Antoinette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her three daughters: Donna Volpicelli, Lynn DeLuca, and Lisa Kalfus; her five grandchildren, Michael DeLuca, Victor Della Croce, Lori DeLuca Swansen, William Kalfus, and Lauren Kalfus; her cherished great-grandchild, Caden Swansen; and many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Antonio and Filomena (Tolli) Concia, as well as her siblings Emilio, Ida Marchionni, Ferdinand, and Louise Pergola.
Following the passing of her husband, Antoinette moved to the Veteran's Home in Montrose, where she formed many meaningful friendships and remained active in her community.
Antoinette will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and the traditions she created that will continue to live on through those who loved her.
