It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Paladino

John was a devoted father and firefighter. He left this world on March 21, 2026.

John was born in Mount Vernon, NY on August 23rd 1958 and raised in Yonkers, New York, he graduated Lincoln High School in 1976 where he played football and baseball for the Lincoln Lancers. John grew up with a spirit of loyalty, courage, and strength that never wavered. For those of us who knew him since we were kids, he was more than a friend he was family.

John dedicated his life to fatherhood and service, proudly joining the FDNY where he spent 12 years protecting his community. Whether racing toward danger or offering comfort in the aftermath, he carried out his duty with humility and unwavering bravery. His colleagues knew him as a steady hand, a quick mind, and a man who never hesitated to put others first.

Outside the firehouse, John could be found on a roof in the neighborhood, following his second passion roofing, or helping a friend with a home improvement. He loved playing softball, watching football with his boys and cheering on his Yankees.

He was known for his easy laugh, his generous heart, and the way he made everyone feel like family. He was the friend who could turn a backyard gathering into a lifelong memory. John was always there to help without ever expecting anything in return.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, two sons John and Joseph and brother Charlie who will forever carry his love and legacy forward. He is also mourned by countless friends, many of whom grew up alongside him—who will miss his steady presence, his humor, and the deep sense of loyalty that defined him.

A memorial service will be held at Community Home for Funerals, 601 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 1pm to 3pm.

May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
