John M. Blecker Obituary
John Michael Blecker
John Michael Blecker of Yonkers, NY, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, at Calvary Hospital. He was 76 years old.
Born on May 5, 1949, in Manhattan to John and Olga Blecker, John was a lifelong resident of Yonkers and a man deeply devoted to his family, his passions, and the simple joys of life.
John spent many of his younger years fishing alongside his father and making lasting memories visiting family in rural Pennsylvania with his sister, Nancy. He had a natural talent for building, creating, and fixing things, along with a lifelong curiosity about electronics and technology. In his twenties, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, embracing a sense of freedom and adventure.
He dedicated many years of his career to Reece Corporation/Auto-Chlor, where he was known for his hard work and reliability. It was there that John met the love of his life, Denise. They were married on August 24, 1974, and built a life centered on love, family, and shared experiences.
John had a deep love for animals and cherished family vacations to Lake George and the Catskills. He was passionate about photography and videography and was rarely without a camera, capturing the moments that mattered most. He will be remembered for his storytelling (dig it!!!), his warmth, and his gift for preserving family memories for generations.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, John and Olga Blecker; his sister, Nancy Kissam; and his son-in-law, Ellis Lee Younger.
John is survived by his loving wife, Denise (Casola); his cherished daughters, Lillie Younger and Victoria Bonifacio; his son-in-law, Steven Bonifacio; and his adored grandchildren, Elias, Cole, Colette, and Callan, who brought him immense pride and joy.
John will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to the Yonkers Animal Shelter.
