Gilberto Gonzalez Obituary
We celebrate the life of a man who was anything but ordinary. He was strong-willed, loud, protective to a fault, and yes—at times, a real pain in the ass. But more than anything, he was ours.
He was the kind of man who kept things in order—everything had its place, and he made sure of it. A true clean freak with a sharp eye for detail, he carried himself with pride and always looked immaculate.
He loved deeply, even if it came out as strictness, stubbornness, or overprotectiveness, but always rooted in love. He was fiercely devoted to his wife. As a father and grandfather, he showed up in ways that mattered—guiding, protecting, and teaching us when needed.
He had a nickname for everyone—no one escaped it. It was his way of connecting, of claiming you as his own, and those names will stay with us forever.
He was hilarious in his own way, especially when telling his stories—animated, expressive, and impossible not to listen to. He could turn the simplest moment into something unforgettable. And when it came to cooking, he didn't just make food—he created meals that were finger licking good.
He was fearless, resilient, and resourceful. No matter what life threw his way, he found a way through it. That strength is something he passed down to all of us.
He may have been grouchy, stubborn, and hard-headed, but he was also loving, caring, and deeply committed to his family. Those who knew him, knew there was no one quite like him—and there never will be.
We will miss his voice, his presence, his stories, his nicknames, and even the things that used to drive us crazy. Because that was him—real, unforgettable, and deeply loved.
He was an amazing son and wonderful Brother.
We celebrate the life of a man who was anything but ordinary. He was strong-willed, loud, protective to a fault, and yes—at times, a real pain in the ass. But more than anything, he was ours.
