Andrew Shvedowsky of Yonkers, NY, age 80, passed away after a long illness on April 17, 2026. He was born on July 27, 1945. Andrew graduated from Saunders High School and began his career working at Stewart Stamping Company for several years. He later dedicated 37 years of service to the City of Yonkers, where he built a long and respected career. He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Mary Kalsky, with whom he shared a loving and devoted relationship for many years

Andrew will be deeply missed by his siblings, Judith Passarelli and Stephen Shvedowsky, as well as his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Louise Shvedowsky; his father, Andrew Shvedowsky; and his siblings, Michael Shvedowsky and Kathleen Jones, all of whom he held close in his heart.

He was a devoted stepfather to five stepchildren: Tracy Kalsky, Christina Kalsky, Heather Kalsky, Anthony Kalsky, and Tiffiny Kalsky, as well as his many grandchildren. Andrew valued family above all else and took pride in being a steady and caring presence in their lives.

Andrew will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and the quiet way he showed love to those around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A service will be held by the family to honor his life. The viewing will take place at Community Home for Funerals, 601 Yonkers Avenue, on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 12:00–4:00 PM. A Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 670 Yonkers Avenue, on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 10:30 AM.
