Marion Francis Smith Edmonds, age 93, formerly a long time resident of Yonkers, New York, departed this world and entered glory on April 26, 2026 at her home.

She was born in Cordova, South Carolina on March 10, 1933 to the late David and Geneva Middleton Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased in death by her husband, James (LB) Edmonds, daughter, Lillie (Bell) Edmonds Lofton, son Darryl Edmonds, grandson Eugene (Gung) F. Smith, III, and 7 brothers, Pinese Middleton, David Smith, Jr., A.D. Smith, Robert Smith, Lamar Smith, Sr., James E. Smith and Charles L. Smith.

At an early age, Marion and her family moved to Orangeburg, South Carolina, where she attended public schools.

She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a young age and lived her entire life displaying God's love to all she came in touch with.

A woman of quiet strength and unwavering faith in the Lord, she was devoted to her home, her church and those she served through her employment as a housekeeper.

As a loving housewife, she poured her heart into caring for her family, creating an atmosphere filled with warmth, comfort, and love.

Her deep love for God was evident in her life each time you would speak with her. She found much joy in attending church, lifting her voice in worship and singing with the spirit that touched those around her.

Marion was known for her kindness and sweet personality, She carried a gentle presence and a radiant smile that could brighten anyone's day.

Whenever you spoke with her, she offered words of encouragement that were sincere and uplifting, always looking out for the person's well-being.

She truly cherished her family, holding them close in her heart and in her prayers.

Marion's legacy is one of faith in God, love and compassion that will never be forgotten.

Cherishing her memories and love, she leaves behind 3 children, 1 son, Laron Edmonds, 2 daughters, Susan Edmonds Porter (Orlando); and Jacqueline Edmonds; 18 grandchildren, LaRonda, Lashelle, Sage, Octavia, Nikita, Ronald Jr., Justin, Tiberius, Nesa,, Markia, Tawanna, Justina, Resena, Clayton, Chakayla, Lukeia, Lukeen and Sherrod; 42 great- grandchildren; 8 great -great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Henry Smith; 2 sisters, Margaret Ann Burrwell and Joann Houser; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
