John was married to his "beautiful bride" Marie for almost 68 years. He was father to John (Lorraine), Louis (Carole) Michael (Joan) and Gina (Raymond). Grandfather to Kaitlyn, John, Mathew, Hannah and Holly. Great grandfather to Corrina, Cadence and Orin. He loved spending time with his family. His brothers, sister, nieces, nephews, cousins and was a friend to many.

He served in the Navy on the US Benner from 1954-1957.
