Richard Wighton, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, New York, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026.

Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Wood and the U.S.S. Rich. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to the U.S. Postal Service, delivering mail throughout Eastchester, Tuckahoe, Bronxville, and Yonkers until his retirement in 2004. He was known for his strong work ethic, friendly smile, and the many connections he made along his route. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed bowling and was especially proud of achieving a perfect 300 game.

Above all, Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Grace; his loving daughters, Stephanie English (Steven) and Corinne Fisca (Rob); and his cherished grandsons, Anthony Fisca (Paola), Nicholas Fisca and Sean Fisca, who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by his brother, John Wighton (Rhoda), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Richard was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Edna Wighton ; his sister, Joan Manno; and his brothers, William Wighton and Charles Wighton.

Richard will be remembered for his quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
