Catherine C Whitaker, age 90, a long time resident of Hastings-on-Hudson, died Friday, October 30, 2015. Catherine was born May 22, 1925 in Mahanoy City, PA the daughter of the late Francis and Lena (Kneib) Whitaker. She was employed as a secretary all her life in NYC and then at St. Anthony's Church in Yonkers. She was a very devoted catholic and a parishioner of St. Matthew's Church in Hastings. Besides being a secretary, Catherine was very handy in fixing mechanical things. Catherine was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Frank (Billy) and Thomas Whitaker and her aunts Frances Kneib and Kate Castro. She is survived by her nephew Robert Licht of Yonkers, NY and her niece Nancy Hill of CA. Friends may call on Sunday from 2PM to 5PM at Hastings Funeral Home, Inc., 15 Spring Street, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. The funeral mass will be Monday at 10:00 at St. Matthews Church, 616 Warburton Ave, Hastings-on-Hudson. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson.
