Obituary of Celeste S. Gaito

Celeste Gaito of Yonkers, NY peacefully passed away on Nov. 28, 2015 at the age of 95 years old. Born in New Bedford, MA., she moved to Yonkers as a child, where she later married and had 3 children. Celeste survived an early death of her husband Louis Gaito continuing to care for her young daughters. She was a hard working mother who devoted herself to her family. She worked as a nurse’s aide at St. John’s Riverside Hospital for 25 years. Celeste is survived by her 3 daughters Celeste (Larry) Pazienza, Jeanne Russell and Louis (Ralph) Fragoso, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Bella Whalen and Mario Pinto. She is also a beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews, She will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 from 3-8 PM at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY. A mass will be held at Mt. Carmel Church on Park Hill Ave., Yonkers, NY at 10 AM. Interment to follow St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Yonkers, NY. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Breast Cancer Awareness
