Obituary of Patricia E. Hughes

Patricia Hughes, age 75, passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family members. Patricia is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bernard, her three daughters, Carol Ann (Robert Herlihy) of North Salem, Lorraine (Brian McDermott) of Pleasantville and Jean (Sean McNamara) of Winter Park, FL and her nine grandchildren: Aidan, Declan, Joan, Steven, Brennan, Ellen, Emmet, Timothy and Hugh. Patricia is the sister of Patrick (Eileen) O'Connell of Garden City Park, NY. Patricia was a longtime resident of Somers and a parishioner at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. Patricia was an avid gardener, talented painter, and celebrated chef. She adored spending time with her friends and family. She was a regular fixture at her grandchildren's athletic events and school plays. Also she was often found volunteering in their classrooms and special school events. Sunday dinners were also a cherished time, as were her trips to Ocean City, NJ. "Grandma Pat" will be forever remembered for her endless love and patience. Patricia enjoyed a successful career working for Westchester County in their housing bureau before her retirement.
