Obituary of Janet Potter D'Amato

Janet Potter D'Amato, age 92, of Armonk, formerly of Bronxville died Friday, July 28, 2017. Janet was born June 5, 1925 in Rochester, NY the daughter of the late Earl Harmon and Florence (Cowles) Potter. Janet attended Pratt Institute in NY, graduating in 1946. She was freelance illustrator and a commercial artist, as well as writing and illustrating many children's books. Janet was also a craftsperson creating wood sculptures and miniature rooms among many other creative projects. She is predeceased by her husband Alex and is survived by her daughters Sandra (Harry) Tompkins of Armonk, NY and Donna (Roger) Heagy of Great Falls, VA. Also surviving are two grandsons, Peter (Charlotte) Tompkins and Andrew Tompkins, and a great grandson Nathaniel. Janet was an active member of the West Center Congregational Church, 101 Pondfield Road West in Bronxville, where a Memorial Service will be held on September 16, 2017 at 11AM
