On March 28, 2024, Germania Holguin Khoury, loving Mother, Grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her house in New York City. Germania was born in San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic to the late Julio Holguin and Consuelo Khoury, a shoemaker and a homemaker. In the early 70s, she came to the United States of America where she met her loving husband, Jose Laureano she was a loving, caring, and resilient woman. She worked for Merrill Lynch for over 30 years and received much recognition for her hard work and dedication. Family held the highest priority in her heart, shaping the essence of her existence. Her legacy is carried on by her daughter Consuelo Laureano and grandchildren Janellie Salcedo, John Salcedo, and Jamyl Salcedo. In loving memory of Germania, we will always think of her loving embrace of family traditions and values. She showed us respect and care for one another and her legacy of integrity, sense of humor, strength, forthrightness, and perseverance. She loved cooking, and gardening (Orchids were her favorites) Germania loved helping others, there was not one person in the world that if she could have helped, she did. From generous donations to those in need to giving hospitality to those who needed a place to live. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her gentle nature and genuine concern for others touched the hearts of many. Her legacy of love and affection will continue to be felt for generations to come. El 28 de marzo de 2024, Germania Holguin Khoury, amorosa Madre, Abuela y hermana fallecio en paz rodeada de su familia en su casa en la ciudad de Nueva York. Germania nació en San Francisco de Macorís, República Dominicana, hija de Julio Holguín y Consuelo Khoury, zapatero y ama de casa. A principios de los años 70 llegó a los Estados Unidos de América donde conoció a su amado esposo, José Laureano. Era una mujer amorosa, afectuosa y resiliente. Trabajó para Merrill Lynch durante más de 30 años y recibió mucho reconocimiento por su arduo trabajo y dedicación. Su prioridad fue siempre su familia, su legado continurara con su hija Consuelo Laureano y sus nietos Janellie Salcedo, John Salcedo y Jamyl Salcedo, siempre la recordaremos por sus tradiciones y valores. Ella nos enseño a respetar y a cuidarnos mutuamente, su legado de integridad, sentido del humor, fuerza , franqueza y perseverancia. Le encantaba cocinar, y cultivar orquideas era su mayor pasion. Germania le encantaba ayudar a su projimo, si ella se enteraba que alguien necesitaba ayuda sin pensarlo dos veces ella ayudaba ya sea desde donar hasta brindar hospitalidad a quienes necesitaban un lugar donde vivir. Su familia era su orgullo y alegría, y apreciaba cada momento que pasaba con ellos. Su naturaleza amable y su preocupación genuina por los demás tocaron los corazones de muchos. Su legado de amor y afecto se seguirá sintiendo durante las generaciones venideras.
