I met Marianna in our freshman year of High School @ MBM in 1971. One of our most memorible times was our senior class trip to Florida. We had a blast. I met John at their engagement party so many years ago. After graduation, we went our seperate ways. I moved to Florida in 1977. Thankfully, thru Facebook, Maryann & several other HS buddies have reconnected last year & have had mini reunions since. Sadly, thru FB, Maryann told us about John s illness. He was so strong, so brave, a true fighter. Its with great sadness to learn he lost his battle last week. I hope God can give my dear friend the strenght to get thru these very difficult days. Much Love to Maryann & John s family. Kerri & Scott Fried

Just a prayer from those who loved you, just a memory, fond and true; In our hearts you'll live forever, Because we thought the world of you, It broke our heart to lose you,But you did not go alone; For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. A million times we miss you, a million tears we've cried; If love could have saved you, you never would have died. A smile for all, a heart of gold, one of the best, this world could hold, Deep in our hearts you will always stay, Loved and remembered every day.
We Love and miss you deeply Uncle John

I met Maryanne about 30 years ago while working in bldg. 80 for U.S. Customs. We've been the closest of friends ever since. Shortly after meeting Maryanne I met John.
Throughout the years, John and I would have many conversations about customs, While waiting for Maryanne to come to the phone. After John transferred to jfk, I would bump into him in the parking lot where we would pick up right where we left off on the previous night's conversation.
John had a special way with older folks. He attended my block party one year and warmed up to my mom immediately. Maryanne said that he always gets along with older folks and that all the older women love
him. She was right. My mom loved the way he jumped right in to help her with whatever needed to be done.
The one thing I learned about John throughout the years was that there was only one thing he loved more that his job with U.S. customs. That one thing was his wife Maryanne.
John, you will be sorely missed and may God keep you in the palm of his hands.

I am so sorry to hear of my old friends untimely death. For more years than I can recall I worked with John in the old Customs Service. John was a character and that was not a bad thing. He will always be remembered by myself as a friend. My God have mercy on him.

I knew John when Maryann first starting going out with him and he was the funniest and nicest guy that you could meet. Its so sad that I never got a chance to see and talk to him again because we all lost contact with each other for thirty years but recently we got together again but unfortunately was not able to see him because he was so sick. I will miss John and always remember him and my love goes out to my closest and good friend, Maryann.
