E. May Hammond, 94, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Mt. Kisco, Armonk, and Somers, NY, died on January 15, 2012. May was born on August 27, 1917, in Philadelphia, PA, to E. May and Edwin Curtis Thomas. She attended High School at Bridgeville High, in Pennsylvania and went on to study at the University of Pittsburg. On April 26, 1945 she married her late husband Russell E. Hammond at the Bridgeville Methodist Church, in Bridgeville, PA. She is survived by: Sandra H. Russell (daughter) of Medfield, MA; June Sells (sister) of Fern Park, FL; granddaughters- Patty Russell of Weymouth, MA; Kimmberly Alvarado of Summit Hill, PA; Tara Borlawsky Payne of Dublin, OH; Melissa Borlawsky Trimby of Salisbury, MA; and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by; Russell A. Hammond (son); Carol Hammond Borlawsky (daughter); Stacey Russell (granddaughter); and Christopher Hammond (grandson). Friends and family may call at the Oelker-Cox and Sinatra Funeral Home, Mt Kisco, NY, on Thursday, January 19, 2012, from 11-12PM, with a service at the Funeral Home at 12:00PM, Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made in her name to, The American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
