Joao Pereira, 94 of Yonkers, NY died Friday. He was born to the late Joaquin and Joaquina Pereira in Portugal, November 15, 1917. Joao was an accomplished tailor in his younger years. He met his lovely wife in Portugal where they married in 1938. They migrated to the United States in 1968 where he worked in NYC as a superintendant until his retirement. Joao is survived by his beloved wife, Emilia, and his six children, Eduardo (Maria) Pereira, Emilia (Mario) Zino, Palmira (Anibal) Mistorni, Ramiro (Mabel) Pereira, Irene (Ramiro) De Carvalho, and Celia (Angel) Mata. He also is survived by fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a loving husband and father.
