Don Louis Cioppa, a lifetime Yonkers resident died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 17, 2012 at home at the age of 76. Don was educated in Yonkers schools and graduated from Saunders High School and the New York Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Vocational Education in 1977. He taught printing and graphic arts at Saunders High School for 30 years retiring in 2001. He also was the owner of Park Hill Advertising Specialties. For many years he dedicated his time and energy to many civic affairs and activities. He served as the Vice Chairman of South Broadway BID and is currently the President of SOYO. He is also a member of the Yonkers Rotary Club, the Park Hill Residents Association and the United Way of Westchester and Putnam Counties. Don also was an influential officer of the Westchester and Putnam County AFL-CIO and the Lakeland Teacher Assistance Fund. He was also prominent in the New York Typographical Union and was a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Don also found time to coach little league baseball in Park Hill and was a founder of the Right to Life Foundation. Beloved husband of Virginia (Revellese) Cioppa. Devoted father of Donna (William) Stewart, Frank (Linda) Cioppa and Mary Cioppa. Cherished grandfather of Nicholas Axente, Stefanie Axente, Nicole and Brett Taylor, Lindsay and Chris Orrok and Frank Cioppa Jr. and great grandfather of Coleton and Carson Taylor and Teagan Orrok. Dear brother of Mary Silvestri, Dominick Cioppa and Frank Cioppa. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass at Mt.
