Shortly after Ernestina and her sister Renata, 3 years older were brought home to Monsummano, Italy to live with their Grandparents. In 1930 at the age of 15, Ernestina returned to New York to rejoin her father and stepmother, Ida whom she came to love very much. She had 7 loving great-grandchildren: James Bald and his wife, Nicole, Dylan Bald, Kimberly, Lacey & Elise Gutekunst and Cameron & Sara Granda. She enjoyed many close relationships in the Emanuel family. However, by meeting her friend Marie in 1935 while working in the garment industry, Sally developed a lifelong loving relationship with the Buonafede family of the Bronx whom she affectionately felt to be her family. Sally was predeceased by her Husband, Vincent, Sister, Renata Alderotti, Son-in-law, Ralph May and Grandson-in-law Thomas Bald.
