hi timothy the loss of a pet can be very diuicfflt to get over especially if the pet in question was part of the family for many years.there are a few things you could do like collect some photos and make a movie with a favorite song in the back ground or you could get portrait done and hang it pride of place in your living-room or you could plant a memorial tree in your dogs memory i done all of the aforementioned when my beautiful st bernard georgie was killed on me last year.im sorry for your loss but remember all the great times ye had and all the wonderful and special memories your dog has left ye.your dog maybe gone physically but will live forever in your heart the same as my beautiful boy georgie hope this helps
