Obituary of Joseph V. Genovesi, Sr.

Joseph Genovesi, Sr., of Katonah, NY passed away peacefully on October 10, 2012 at the age of 79. He was born in Mt. Kisco on November 11, 1932 to the late Amato and Maria (DiNardo) Genovesi. He proudly served his country as a corporal in the US Army from 1953 to1954 during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Teresa (Amuso) Genovesi, sons Joseph (Ann) Genovesi, Jr of Upper Saddle River, NJ and Tom Genovesi of Katonah, NY. Cherished grandfather of five loving grandchildren; Nicole, Corey, Joey, Anthony and Jimmy. He is also survived by his loving sister Sue Panetta of Dover, NJ and brother George (Alice) Genovesi of Bedford Hillls, NY. He was predeceased by three loving sisters Jennie Cutri, Eleanor Burger and Ann Paganelli. Joe was a foreman and shop steward for Miller Supply Co. in White Plains, NY for over 35 years. He was an active volunteer at Rosary Hill Home and a member of the American Legion in Mt. Kisco. Joe touched many lives and was loved by everyone whoever met him. Friends may call on Friday (today) from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9PM at Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home, 262 E. Main Street, Mount Kisco, NY. The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 at St. Mary's Church, Katonah. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Mt. Kisco.
