Obituary of Deborah A. Jenkins

Deborah Ann Jenkins was a life-long resident of Yonkers who transitioned from this life just before sunrise on Friday, November 23, 2012. She was affectionately known as "Debbie" by her loved ones. Deborah was born on July 4th, 1953 in West Point, New York to Alfred Jenkins Sr. and to the late Sylvia Cozart. Debbie attended Yonkers Public Schools where she graduated from Commerce High School, as a Fashion Design Major. She then went on to complete her Undergraduate Degree from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. Professionally, Debbie was a dedicated and diligent worker. She worked for the County of Westchester for over 30 years as a Payroll Supervisor in several locations including JOBTRAC in White Plains, New York and the Department of Corrections in Valhalla, New York. Before retiring in 2010, she was an Administrative Assistant for the Department of Social Services in Mount Vernon, New York. Debbie enjoyed reading, travelling, skiing, a "good" movie and shopping with family and friends. She is survived by her son Carl Lee Green Jr. and her nephew she raised, Robert Snead; Alfred Jenkins Sr. (father), Shirley Jenkins (stepmother), her brothers; Alfred Jenkins Jr., Tyrone Jenkins, Roosevelt Keyes and Carl "Chubby" Jenkins (Tonya) and her sisters; Alfreda Wells (deceased), Crystal Cardwell and Phyllis Stewart. She also leaves a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to remember her compassionate and loving spirit. Visiting hours will be on Friday, November 30th, 2012 from 2p.m.- 4p.m. and 7p.m. - 9p.m. Her home going service will take place on Saturday, December 1st, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sinatra Memorial Funeral Home, Incorporated located at 601 Yonkers Avenue in Yonkers, New York 10704. The Internment will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Yonkers, New York.
